All in all, it was fun, because it was free. Had I paid entrance to this, I’d have been kind of irked. Fedor dipped before I could get an autograph, the promotions were basically for anyone at the half-cage/stage as opposed to those of us waiting in line for autographs and some gravelly voiced emcee annoyed everyone along with the not quite as annoying DJ Clue. That said, I got some cool pics, shook a lot of hands, got some autographs and basically had a good time.

C.S.A.C. hearing updates: Barnett is a dummy and Sonnen is fucked

So, ongoing right now, the California State Athletic Commission is holding their monthly/weekly/wheneverthefucktheyholdthem hearing. There is a bunch of lawyerisms and procedural nonsense, but cutting through the fact, here are the summaries.

In the case of Josh Barnett, he apparently has a legal team, but delayed the last hearing because his lawyers weren’t there. They were not present again at this hearing and with Barnett being “surprised” that he would be put under oath, he requested and was granted yet another extension. To make it even shorter, he played dumb and it will be delayed yet again. Also, he denied taking steroids in the first place.

So far the “prosecution” has given their case against Sonnen and he sounds fucked nine ways to Friday. Basically: “sonnen didn’t inform us he was on testosterone”, “he isn’t supposed to be on testosterone” and “even if he was allowed to be on it due to health reasons he still needs to test within limits, which he didn’t”.
